Since 2010, WRG has partnered with the Help Educate A Child Foundation to improve these schools. In the first year, a grant provided uniforms, socks, and shoes. Today, roughly 3,000 children across 27 schools receive support through this local partnership.
Most schools previously lacked electricity but are now equipped with solar panels and charging stations. Students are provided with solar lamps to use at home, which they bring to school to recharge. Solar pumps have also been installed to provide clean well water.
Students across all participating schools receive free school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and socks, alongside free annual physical and dental checkups.
Eleven schools now employ an additional teacher’s aide to assist in the classroom. Furthermore, many schools have been equipped with small libraries, sports equipment, and annual health camps.
WRG has donated 40 computers across 16 schools, which included establishing a brand-new computer lab with 10 dedicated computers at the local high school.
